Can You Repeat That?

A Game Show About the Magic City

Local celebrity contestants laughing at game-show tables on stage

The Challenge

The Birmingham History Center wanted to bring energy and humor to a fundraising event to raise awareness and support for its mission of preserving the artifacts and stories from the Magic City's fascinating past.

The Project

I wrote, produced, and emceed a sold-out game show about The Magic City called "Can You Repeat That?" at the historic Virginia Samford Theater, featuring local luminaries like James Spann, Frank Stitt, former mayor Richard Arrington Jr, and then mayor William Bell.

  • A full theater audience facing the lit game-show stage
  • Contestants at their tables while Max hosts from the podium
  • A wide view of the game show on the Virginia Samford Theater stage
  • The Can You Repeat That? show poster
